JERSEY DRESS - ACT II

While everyone around her looks like they just woke up, she takes her legs to the street wearing a very short jersey dress and funky nylons. Playful nylons are indeed something to consider before going for plain black, but maneuver carefully. In this case, they actually help to create an eye-pleasing monochromatic tone-on-tone outfit, while preventing the overexposed limbs from catching a cold.

ESSENTIAL TRENCH COAT

The trench coat, that dreamy garment worn by countless French movie sirens on as many romantic rainy days, should be part of every woman's wardrobe. Sadly, it isn't. If you intend on getting one, go for pale gray (cooler) or a light beige (warmer) and keep it as short (or long) as the picture above. Covering your knees and any portion of your calves with a coat is a crime against sensuality. Nothing much was needed here to add flair, other than matching dark gray heels, a bag and a lovely tan.

STYLE RIDER

In a college library, the outfit would be sweet. On a scooter, it sizzles. Knee-high socks, low heels and a mini-skirt on wheels need no justification. Accidents just happen. The overall monochromatic effect of browns and khaki greens, down to the shades and retro jacket just goes with the seat color and the black Vespa. Something too right about this one. If she isn't engaged in guerrilla marketing, then Vespa should promptly issue her a check.

KILLER TANK

Skinny jeans, open-toe heels and a fiery red and black tank top make a very sexy and uninhibited statement. The wide shoulders and elegant neckline contribute to the impact. Do not be fooled by the innocent bangs and ponytail. There is more wilderness in this woman than in a Kenyan reserve.

BELLA

Italian film directors have been singing the praises of the long flowery dress for decades. To achieve maximum hotness, the fabric must cling to the body at the slightest breeze and the cut must fall lose below the knee, without concealing the calves. The V neckline should not be too deep, to reveal just a hint of cleavage. Elevate your posture with strappy stilettos and get set to replace Bellucci in the sequel to Malena.

VOLUPTUOUS ILLUSION

This dress is perhaps better suited for a night of debauchery than a subway ride, but it deserves commentary because it had the coveted ability to make a derriere look fantastic. You must trust me on this one: the woman pictured above, although attractive, did not have the voluptuous curvature that this picture may lead you to believe. The dress provides a few optical illusions worth pointing out: 1) It's made out of a thin stretchy material with horizontal wrinkles for volume; 2) It's cut at the right place to create a lifting effect with a vertical line down the middle, into which the abovementioned wrinkles converge; 3) It's brightly colored below and black on top to further enhance the curves, and 4) It's worn with stilettos. If you're missing a little J-Lo flavor, look for the above and say good-bye to implants.
